Hello. I’m Grackle.

I’m a 42 year old human. In October 2025, my family bought 4 acres of land and a very eccentric home. We’ve named it Robin Woods.

This is a blog. I love blogs. I miss the internet circa 2005. I plan to write whatever I want. Probably about my house and my family, but I’m sure I’ll have some weird tangents.

This is not content. By that, I mean:

• I will never have ads. Ever.

• I am not looking to monetize this. I want to write because I love writing. I don’t want it to become a side hustle. I’m doing this for joy and to untangle my thoughts.

• I am going to try very very hard to not judge my success based on clicks.

• If I don’t feel like writing, I’m not going to.

I will never use AI. I’ll change up the contrast and similar features for photos, but I won’t filter them. I will also shamelessly push aside dirty laundry and boxes from out of the frame of the photo so that you don’t know that they are there but then I’ll feel weird being fake and take a photo to show my mess anyway.

I’ll probably have a fair amount of typos unless I obsess over every post.

This is my younger child, Chickadee (Chick).

Note: I didn’t let anyone name themself. I asked them to choose a pseudonym for themselves that is a native Missouri bird and they all looked at me blankly. When I gave examples, they all wanted badass names like Raven or Falcon.

So I named them.
